Tyler Sabourin

Instructor

Tyler Sabourin comes to Esh’s youth program with many years of teaching experience. Since 2013 he has worked in a range of classroom settings, including assistant teaching in NYC public elementary schools, lead teaching middle school math, and curriculum development and lead teaching for PreK through grade 8 music. As a circus student and artist, Tyler began taking a mixed aerials class at Aircraft in 2016 and jumped around until he finally landed at Commonwealth Circus Center (Esh’s sister studio). His primary circus disciplines are aerial rope and Cyr wheel. In addition to recreational classes, Tyler has also been a student in the Professional Preparatory Program at Esh Circus Arts.

Outside of the circus, Tyler is a master’s level mental health clinician with a specialization in music therapy. He hopes to combine his theories on community mental health with his circus work, and takes a personal development and growth mindset approach in both his teaching and learning.
