Shir Livne

Instructor

Shir is a circus artist and poet who creates strong, evocative pieces. She is a former robotics engineer who decided to run away with the circus after aerial rope and tightwire caught her heart in 2017.

She studied at the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA) in the ProTrack Program from 2020-2022, focusing on aerial rope and tightwire. She loves teaching circus, especially tightwire, and has studied teaching pedagogy at École Nationale de Cirque (ENC). In both her art and teaching, she loves finding meaning in thoughtful movements and patterns.

In addition to performing and teaching, Shir is also the Assistant Bookings Manager at the Boston Circus Guild. She is a step-parent, and a voracious reader. One day she’ll knit a circus tent.
